I think MLB is not happy if the Yankees or the Redsox are not in the World Series.  They like the Dodgers and Mets and would be over joyed with a Subway series or a Yankees vs Dodgers series.  

They probably cringe when Tampa Bay or Arizona gets in.  What kind of national attention will they draw?  None.

MLB should do much more revenue sharing like the NFL does but that probably won’t happen either.

I'm not sure how I feel about batted balls up the middle being 5-3 or 6-3 grounders or lineouts.  I guess something has to give if you're going to ban shifts but it still kind of feels bad.

Then they lost 3/5 of their rotation. If the Yankees rotation stays healthy they can avoid the Rays' fate.
