 Melanie is bad for exactly the same reasons this is bad. She’s ok as the middle innings “around the league update” voice, but she’s objectively terrible at PBP

I certainly don't hate Melanie. But I do think she's sub-par as a play by play announcer for a major league team with a rich history of excellent play by play voices.

The A’s do have a female PBP announcer, IIRC.   I wonder if this was meant to diss her.  I I have no idea what she sounds like or if she’s any good.

When I originally posted it, I hadn’t read the caveat at the bottom, and initially thought it was genuine. Once I realized it was fake, it became a bigger indictment of Newman, who really isn’t much different from this, especially the first but…”and it’s hit to left field, no, I mean right field…”

I have nothing against Newman, BTW, but her announcing is awful  and I wish she’d do something for which she is better suited.

And FWIW, I think “four base hit” is actually kind of cute.

Maybe we could do a tie in with Wendy’s.
