Dean Kremer starts tonight for the first time since May...what are you expecting, what will you be satisfied with?

Seattle is a fortunate draw for Kremer's comeback, they can't score runs. If he can just throw strikes he'll be fine.

Agree, but I also hope it's not the other way around where Seattle is fortunate to draw a rusty Dean Kremer fresh of a suspect rehab stint.

Either way, have to gather the info. Can Dean continue to be a sort of low 4's backend SP the rest of the season, or do we have another problem on our hands. Gotta find out one way or the other.

As an aside, what the heck’s up with Julio Rodriguez?  .244/.294/.324 — really?  Seattle looks awfully feeble when he’s not hitting well.

He must have hung out with Bo Bichette all off season.   Two up and coming stars that have lost their ability to hit a baseball with authority.  Rodriguez has 13 extra base hits on the year 6 doubles and 7 homers while Bichette has just 19 with 4 homers, 14 doubles and 1 triple.

And Corbin Carroll too with his .210/.301/.311 slash line this season.

I noticed that, but he sure seemed out of sorts last night.

Well the K numbers, WHiFF rate and chase rate are atrocious although those have never been good for him anyway but between that AND bad luck, you get a really down season numbers wise.

OToH, if his luck turns around, he could be in for a big second half, ala last year.

Julio Rodriguez started out very poorly last season and absolutely took off in July and ended up with 32 HR's and 103 RBI with an .818 OPS. I don't think he's cooked, he's still just 23 years old.

What seems very different this time is his absolute lack of power.   Even when he was at his lowest point last year, he was still running a .172 ISO.   Right now he's at .080.   It's really weird.   As Sports Guy pointed out, his xSLG is more than 100 points higher than his actual SLG.   That's also really weird.

His barrel rate is down to the 56th percentile from 77th last season. His whiffs and K's are way up too.
