So if no one wanted to pay it what does that tell you. I could understand if Skubal and Crochet had been dealt.  Can you honestly say you’d be happy seeing 2 of Holliday, Basallo, and Mayo be dealt?

2?  No.  One plus others?  Yes.

So … based on the prices I doubt that was on the table. Besides with all of the other problems we are having I doubt it moves the need much. Burnes and Crochet/Skubal can’t pitch everyday and go 7+.

Yeah like I said maybe this off season things will hopefully be a little more reasonable.

Sure and I can understand your disappointment. The problem with the logic is that those guys weren’t dealt to anyone. So it’s fair to say they weren’t available or the price was so absurd that it was basically the same thing. I think we gave way too much for Rogers. He’s a chump IMO. So Im guessing the ask for the top guys probably were 2 if not all of the top 3 plus.

Yeah , he should be looking at guys that got traded and the price. I brought this guy up yesterday (the Jazz guy from Miami0, and got accused that the only reason I brought him up was his Fast start with NYY. 2 big reasons I like him here ,he slots in for Mullins next 2 years, 3 years younger than Ced, costs less, can play CF, LF, RF and 2nd base( hell the NYY think he can play third) Reason 2 , the Yankees paid spit for him

Yeah …. I agree. He played very well against us. I susythe reason we didn’t go after him was he’s LH. Considering we needed a CF it might’ve been a good idea.

I hate guys w/ elite arms who have the best fastball in baseball.  Give me guys like Irvin who are team players and want to win every day.  #TeamIrvin

Not to mention elite demands Guess you forgot about that.

Yeah you could probably sign Irvin for 5 years/$30 million.  Just think, we could have a rotation full of Irvins for what it would cost to pay Crochet.

I don't know about you guys, but I can't wait for the Eloy Jimenez Experience.

2 for 3 with an RBI….Also Slater is 3 for 4 so far. So some of Elias acquisitions are contributing in a positive way.

    • At this point if you told me they went 9-9 and finished 91-71 I'd be more than satisfied. Probably wouldnt be good enough for the division though unless 2 or 3 of the wins were against NYY. Hard to see them beating any decent team in a series though right now.
    • Yeah I had the thought of moving Mullins back up recently as well. Mainly just to get Adley out of that spot though.
    • Yesterday was certainly a hate-watch.  Then I got in the truck and hate-listened while doing errands. I'd like to see some guys come off the IL and get back to playing normal but the clock is ticking and I'm afraid that's too much to ask for.  I'd like to believe that the team can go on a run but as you said that's blind faith.
    • I think Kjerstad probably saw the post-game spread and thought Taco Bell was a better option.
    • Feels like i‘m hate watching most games these days LOL.    Any belief that this team is going to ‘go on a run’ is just blind faith at this point. This team is like Forest Gump’s box of chocolates - you really have no idea what team is going to be on the field. Will Povich give up 8 runs in three innings?  Or will he give up 1-2 in 6?  Will the offense mash 4 homers?  Or not even get 4 hits? Regardless of opponent you just can’t possibly anticipate.    Also all these lineups with Jimenez, Maton , Rivera and the like are giving me 2021 vibes way too often.
    • Looking forward to Bello schooling us again like he has all season.  3 games, and our slash is .180/.286/.279 against him.  That's right, our slugging is lower than our OBP against him. I might not even watch tonight.   I mean, who am I kidding?  I'll watch, but it'll be hate-watching.
    • Hi Sanity, On rehab assigments MLB players don't typically intereact with coaches after the game. He likely doesn't have any relationship with his teammates. I lived in FL for a decade and have seen this before when MLB players are sent on assignment or ST games. I understand the humble concept, but I'd rather have him believe he is a MLB player at this point in his career.   No MLB enjoys being sent to the minors.  Maybe he wanted to get the clubhouse in Baltimore with his teammates-maybe he likes the food at the MLB level better than the food at A level.  Maybe he wanted to use the new hitting machine at CY. I don't think it is anything to be concerned about.
