I'm not going to draw any conclusions off his start to his professional career, but the amount of miss is enough to give me a little pause.

Now, he could very well be a slow starter kind of guy who because of his late start is why he's really struggle to find his footing, but he's going to need a lot of reworking this offseason.

Either way, we'll know a lot more after next season then we know right now. No reason to write him off, but also no reason to be overly optimistic.

There's lots of talent in there. This will be a great test for the hitting development staff.

Well, if you’re not going to draw any conclusions how, at the same time, can you say he’s going to need a lot of reworking this off season?

Just saying.

Huh?

That doesn't even make sense unless we're using different meanings for conclusions.

A conclusion to me is, "He's a bust!" or "He'll never make it!" based on his pro numbers.

Saying that he's need some reworking in the offseason is not going out on much of a limb and is an observation.

You’re observing Honeycutt really struggle in his debut which has led you to the conclusion that he’s going to need a lot of reworking this off season.

Conclusion

a judgment or decision reached by reasoning.

You are looking for reason here?  lol. Good luck.

Of course he needs to make adjustments. We knew that the day he drafted him. If he was batting 500 right now, he would still need to make adjustments. Thats what happens.

Honeycutt finally did something.  2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and scored a run.  I think it was just 2 singles, but at this point, I'm just happy with any hits.

I was starting to think late career Chris Davis was his hero.  Hopefully that gets him out of whatever funk he was in or gives him some confidence.

It could be Honeycutt has already been given things to work on and is struggling as a result.  When Holliday flopped his first stop in the majors, he was given things to work on at Norfolk with the O's knowing he would initially struggle down there as a result.

I went to the game with my son yesterday.  Honeycutt had a spectacular leaping grab near the CF wall and made solid contact as noted above for 2 singles.  Looked like an exciting player to watch.   Hopefully a sign of things to come; i imagine he will be right back there to start 2025.
