Teams are starved for offense. Mounty will have a market as long as the wrist is ok.

Is it me or does something seem "off" about this or am I overthinking it.

Mountcastle has plenty of value. Still decently young, great defender, and he does have pop. I do think Waltimore has gotten into his head, so not sure if it’s altered his swing and approach and that’s carried over to other stadiums, but there’s no secret here. Just look the before/after Waltimore power numbers for him.

Mountcastle would make a great fit in St. Louis or the Astros with their ballparks.

Hyde's mentioned Mounty isn't healing as fast as they hoped he would. I think that's what is coming through there.

No I agree. I think he’s done for the year.

Was thinking the same thing about the Astros. That was also probably the Astros thinking re: Mancini and his issues w/ Waltimore. Although slightly different since Mancini was a pretty lackluster OFer, so really his position is DH. Mountcastle is a solid defensive 1B. And he'd be 28 going into next season with 2 more relatively affordable years left. I'd be curious if the O's go the route of trading Mounty and open up 1B for Mayo. But there's no guarantee that Mayo will play well at 1B. And it's not like the Elias admin has ever really valued defense at 1B, otherwise they wouldn't have tried Ramon, Santander, and even O'Hearn over there. So maybe they gamble it.

Webb with 1 IP, 2H 0ER in his rehab appearance last night. He’s pitched on 9/1, 9/4, and 9/10.

I think we give him one more outing down there. Maybe 2. Probably try and bring him back into a game on 9/13ish next time.

I think he’s done with rehab.  We’ll see.

I doubt Kjerstad is coming back that soon, if at all.

If he doesn’t have setbacks, I see no reason why he won’t be back here.

That said, I don’t think it’s this week either.  I think they will play him in the field in the minors before bringing him up.

Bowies season ends on Sunday. Norfolk ends the following Sunday.  His first game back could, ironically, be against the Yankees.
