We have hitting coaches? When did that happen. They appear good at writing stuff down.

When you hire a guy who was a highschool teacher-coach with one year experience in professional baseball as a coach, and another with what, three years as a minor league hitting coach, you don't exactly have guys with a lot of experience with helping guys get out of slumps.

The Orioles have gone to the technocoach without offsetting that with actual professional hitting coaches with real experience.

The fact that Mayo has made ZERO adjustments has me concerned. He constantly pulls off the ball and looks to be trying pull every pitch over the left field fence. He has zero chance of hitting offspeed or right hand breaking balls.

What are the hitting coaches working with him on? Are they working with him?

That is the exact same thing that Holliday did when called up, and is still doing.  Just from the opposite side of the plate.   It is obviously something the Orioles are teaching.

Thinking about how Irvin got claimed off waivers, while I'm seeing Burch Smith warming up, I am extremely disappointed with how this team has been run since the middle of the summer approaching the trade deadline.  Rogers is still one of the dumbest trades I've ever seen. And that's among a flurry of dumb decisions. It's like Elias has a secret Borderline Personality Disorder all of a sudden, because that isn't the stability we had grown to appreciate in the previous couple of seasons.

Also, the no drafting pitchers and only drafting bats thing is a failure.

Significantly?

Jun 17-12

Jul 12-13

Aug 13-15

Sep6-7

31-35 in July/Aug/Sept = .470, which would be last place in AL East, only better than the season record so far of the historically bad White Sox in the Central, and of the A's and Angels in the West (behind Texas).
