I looked it up, the opening home series in 88 was only 2 games vs the Brewers.

They still got swept, just not 3 games like was the qualifier for the factoid.

How is that factoid about the last home opener series sweep was in 1977 possible? wouldnt it have had to been in 88 when they started 0-21?

Ok here's the only loophole here...

The 1988 opening series was only a 2 game series vs Milwaukee. Maybe MASN didn't count that year as a true 3 day opening series and thus the stat works.
