I thought the Maier incident was the catalyst for the HR review rule in the first place?

That was definately fan interference. If I were Buck, I would have stalled as long as possible to give them time to review that. I thought it was an out with fan interference? I think I remember them saying something to that effect on the Izturis opening day HR.

In Major League Baseball, a system similar to that in the National Hockey League for the last month of the 2008 season and beyond was implemented on August 28, 2008. The system allows instant replay to be used to review boundary home run calls to determine:

• fair (home run) or foul

• whether the ball actually left the playing field

• whether the ball was subject to spectator interference

-would be nice to see the replay again

I haven't seen a replay yet that definitively shows Avery's glove and the fan's glove in relation to the LF wall. You can't say it was fan interference without seeing if the fan reached onto the field of play.

Have you seen a replay that proves this? Because the one facing directly at the wall doesn't show it "clearly" at all.
