The Valencia move there was a lot of head scratching on this move. Well this move was made in case Hardy has another down year. If Valencia performs in his spot roles and Hardy ****s the bed. Guess who slides over to SS and who fills in at 3B?

There is always a contingency with DD

What happens if Davis starts the year at 1st just as bad as Reynolds did at 3rd last year? I like Chris but consider me nervous about him playing there.

I don't know, but $2 million is a reasonable gamble on that chance, especially when you consider that the team has other cheap options like Reimold, Davis, Hoes, and Avery if McLouth falls off.
