olehippi
If Wada has a couple more good starts, I can see the Orioles bringing him up just to try getting something out of their sizable investment in him. Wada would be one of the replacement candidates if the Orioles give up on Hammel and move him to the BP.....a move that will likely happen if Hammel doesn't turn things around quickly. Wada, Britton, maybe Steve Johnson are only internal options it seems if Hammel has to go to pen. Let's hope he turns it around in second half. Can_of_corn
You did but after a T.J. surgery it's still hard to believe this is the same guy who was very good in Japan. You thought he was so bad that he couldn't get out AAA hitters?I still have to assume he's not 100% because there's no logical reason his numbers in AAA should be this bad. You thought he was a #5 starter/reliever at the ML level, IRRC. He's barely a #5 starter at AAA right now. That was 90% Wada joke 10% I told you so. Cut me a little slack, I understand he had surgery.
Crazysilver03
With 7-8 turns of the rotation left in the minor league season, I wonder if Wada is brought to the majors at all.

Over heard in the Warehouse: "Wada think about calling him up now?" "Why, because he had one good game? Didn't he throw two stinkers before that?" "So, no then?" "We'll tell him he can come up when rosters expand....IF we need him."
mdbdotcom
Does a strong finish at AAA, make the O's even consider picking up his 4.75M option? The answer seems pretty easy but I could see the O's trying to figure a way to bring him back for less. May depend on how he pitches in the World Series. They could probably bring him back on a cheap $1M base salary with incentives if he wants to return and the Orioles want him back.
Three Run Homer
I think Wada just established himself as the leading contender to join the rotation if Gonzo's arm doesn't return to life soon.
Can_of_corn
Buck was high on him and Duke obvisouly thought enough of him to sign him in the first place. So far, they've gotten zero back on an 8M investment. I think you are probably right and I hope that Wada feels he O's a little something, enough that the two sides can work something out for next year. He could be a 6th starter/long man and some nice insurance for next year. I think that if he doesn't progress to the point where he is dominant at Norfolk he goes back to Japan.
