Yeah I mean I get that taste is a subjective matter but I just never understood the appeal of places like Chipotle or In-n-Out or the like. Of course I suppose as one who lives in so-Cal I've become spoiled as to what constitutes good Mexican cuisine.

Well, let's be fair here. The burritos that are the rage from places like Chipotle are barely Mexican anymore. I've heard them called both Cali style and Frisco style. Either way, you go to a real Mexican restaurant and ask for a burrito, expecting to get something like a Chipotle or another larger chain, be ready for disappointment, right?
