Great effort but I was a bit concerned about the pitch count. I kept thinking of Mussina's 144 pitch outing back in the day. Thankfully, Miggy didn't approach that number! Still, it was more than he should've throw, IMO, considering the circumstances. Not much to gain and lots to lose.

Maybe skip his next turn and give it to Ubaldo and Saunders

The only other time that Gonzalez had pitched a complete game in his entire professional career before tonight was for the AA-Arkansas Travelers, in 2007:

Gonzalez Pitches 3-Hit Shutout

Miguel Gonzalez pitched a complete-game three-hitter as the Arkansas Travelers rolled to a 7-0 victory over the Tulsa Drillers in front of 3,448 fans at Drillers Stadium.

Right. Because God forbid a starter ever finish a game. Nothing personal but I am really tired of hearing about pitch counts. 117 is not that high of a number. Beyond getting ridiculous.

I wasn't keeping track tonight.

Sorry. :(

No worries, it's thankless work you do :thumbsup1:

Average of 13 per inning, couldn't have been too much laboring in there.

Quick and easy batters faced by inning:

1: 3

2: 3

3: 4

4: 3

5: 3

6: 3

7: 3

8: 6

9: 4

8th was by far the toughest. Otherwise, faced four batters twice and 1-2-3 for the other six innings. Filth.
