He's at .591. Let's not pretend he's a superior offensive player. They're very similar players with a lot of defense, poor OBP skills, and occasional power. The difference is Schoop has a lot of upside.

In nearly half the PA. He was .683 last year in about the same PA as Schoop has this year. He has every bit as much power as Schoop as well. Upside is great and all, but Schoop being good 3 years from now doesn't help this team win this year.

I don't know what the number of AB has to do with anything since we're not talking about counting stats. There has been no discernible difference in their play this year. When you have a guy with more upside, you give him more AB because the light could flip on at anytime.
