"Re-evaluate tomorrow" is slang for "too much inflammation and swelling tonight."

I'd be surprised if an MRI would be conclusive tomorrow. You gotta let those bad boys calm down first. That's why a pitcher's UCL tear never shows up on the first MRI, which is usually the day after it happens. It's always an "elbow strain."

We need to give this one a week before we have the real answer.

Get better for October manny!

I imagine flaherty will get the lion's share of playing time at third with schoop playing second full time. Davis may see a little time here and there at third, which means a little more playing time for Pearce.

I am intrigued with Dejesus. Can he play third? I hope JJ can come back quickly. Losing the whole left side for any period of time would be devastating.

Dejesus plays SS primRily. Not much time at 3b or 2b.

Lombo and Weeks mKes more sense than Cord Phelps: that came out of nowhere.

Wildcard knows his stuff but that is a head scratcher if true.

Great. I thought tomorrow was going to be bad enough waiting for the MRI results. A week will be torturous.

Huh??? Not on 40 man. Paerades is. Dejesus can play SS. Heck, Walker makes more sense. Why Cord Phelps?

The need is someone to back up Flaherty at 3B. Phelps has the best record on defense at 3B with a .970 fielding pct this year. He has a good OBP and he drives in and scores runs. Wieters can move to the 60 day DL to make room.

Paredes is too error prone. He would not be my pick. He might be Dan and Buck's. Shiny new toy. But I think they will regret it if they call him up.

Sorry, but watching the video is not good. The Orioles are the Patriots of MLB. You will not get a straight answer right away. The angle the knee bent looks like a MCL tear or the same ligament he tore in the left knee. Often a genetical defect happens bilaterally. I am thinking first glance that may be it.

What about Christian Walker for 1st and Davis at 3rd?

    • Didn't see today's game in it's entirety but I will say this.  I feel 100% more confident with Mateo playing second and turning  a DP rather than JH right now.  JH will be fine there.  In time.   But even forgetting his hitting, D wise he just isn't there yet.   And yes I know the metrics say he is fine.  But to me, using the eye test, he looked very shaky fielding and throwing,
    • I like Kevin.  He is constantly improving.  My only beef is that he doesn't seem to understand that a foul ball isn't always out of play.   A ball can be hit foul, but still be in the field of play.
    • My preferred day 3 WR would have been Troy Franklin, but he apparently had a bad combine on positional drills (which might have been because he had the flu.)  And he got picked by Denver pretty early.   Devontez Walker is kind of intriguing.  He's 6'2", barely.   A bit on the skinny side but ran in the mid-4.3s.  His route tree is pretty limited, mostly short quickouts/slants and go/post routes. But he's really good at the deep routes.  Sort of a discount DK.  He's reported to have good hands and good deep ball tracking ability as well.  We have to see how that translates in the pro game.
    • Adley looks way more energized and McCann is veteran catcher who is good defensively and handles the pitchers well.  Doesn't really make sense to wear Adley out when the O's are using him at the top of the lineup.
    • Just seems like a more controlled swing from the right side, shorter, flatter.
    • He was signed in the Covid year when they only had a 5 round draft, which is why he was undrafted.  Was showing promise bur tore his UCL in 2022.  Pitched a little last year, this is his first full year back.  Nice to see the good outing.
    • What's up with Brandon Young? Out of nowhere (#30 prospect above... undrafted?) he goes 3 IP with 0 hits or walks, and 7 Ks, throwing an otherworldly 26 of 31 pitches for strikes, in Bowie's game today.
