I hate the Blue Jays, almost as much as I hate the Yankees. ALMOST.

Man-we are getting our butts handed to us. Wow. Painful painful series to watch.

Long season, but yikes.

And I gotta preach my hourly Lough hate-WHY IS LOUGH HITTING THE BALL IN THE AIR??? Buck should fine him like Willie Mays Hays. Watching Lough hit makes my eyes bleed.

I'm Jays-Sox-Skanks right now. In order. Still a house of horrors north of the border.

Kc get a REAL honorable mention too...

These are the cards the O's were dealt, and DD thought we would

stand pat well 0for3 with the Jays. I think were in last place, didn't have the heart to look at the paper.

We are in last place...a whopping two games behind the first-place teams.

It's safe to say that nobody in the AL East has separated themselves from the pack so far.

Who makes Flaherty or TJM out to be amazing talents?

Not now, but when we had them on the roster all year people sure thought they were going to be studs.

Bottom line-are we trying to win or clip coupons?

I would rather spend money and energy in international talent: both scouting and signing.

A week ago, the Yankees were 3-6 and looked terrible. Tanaka had two bad starts, and it looked like his elbow issue would prevent him from being any good this year. Betances was not showing the same stuff he had last year. They were sloppy on the bases, and in the field. One week later, things look a lot different.

Just saying. The outlook on things can change quite a bit in a week or two.

Yes.

The Yankees were an eyelash from sweeping a 4-game series from the Tigers in Detroit, and going 7-0 in their last 7 games.

The Tigers were very fortunate to have stolen the first game of the series with the Yankees on Monday. Sabathia had shut them out for the first 6 innings of the game before the Tigers were able to get 2 runs across in the 7th.

Their (the Tigers) offense was thoroughly silenced by the Yankees' pitching staff in all 4 games of the series.

And the Tigers were the hottest team in baseball prior to that series with the Yankees.

The team to the south, despite having a better record, is 6 games out right now.

What good would that do? Imo both are inferior players to Hardy and Shoop and on a playoff caliber team bench players.

I do agree with this post, but not the tussle you two are getting into. I am starting to think I am moderating the chirpy Royals.

    • They’ve added a handful of additional receivers in the UDFA class https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/rumor-mill-ravens-undrafed-free-agent-tracker-2024-nfl
    • Didn't see today's game in it's entirety but I will say this.  I feel 100% more confident with Mateo playing second and turning  a DP rather than JH right now.  JH will be fine there.  In time.   But even forgetting his hitting, D wise he just isn't there yet.   And yes I know the metrics say he is fine.  But to me, using the eye test, he looked very shaky fielding and throwing,
    • I like Kevin.  He is constantly improving.  My only beef is that he doesn't seem to understand that a foul ball isn't always out of play.   A ball can be hit foul, but still be in the field of play.
    • My preferred day 3 WR would have been Troy Franklin, but he apparently had a bad combine on positional drills (which might have been because he had the flu.)  And he got picked by Denver pretty early.   Devontez Walker is kind of intriguing.  He's 6'2", barely.   A bit on the skinny side but ran in the mid-4.3s.  His route tree is pretty limited, mostly short quickouts/slants and go/post routes. But he's really good at the deep routes.  Sort of a discount DK.  He's reported to have good hands and good deep ball tracking ability as well.  We have to see how that translates in the pro game.
    • Adley looks way more energized and McCann is veteran catcher who is good defensively and handles the pitchers well.  Doesn't really make sense to wear Adley out when the O's are using him at the top of the lineup.
    • Just seems like a more controlled swing from the right side, shorter, flatter.
    • He was signed in the Covid year when they only had a 5 round draft, which is why he was undrafted.  Was showing promise bur tore his UCL in 2022.  Pitched a little last year, this is his first full year back.  Nice to see the good outing.
