I was THRILLED with Wrights performance. But its ONE performance. I saw Chris Waters pitch a one hitter in his MLB debut in Anaheim.He may be working at Home Depot now. Thats NOT to denigrate Wright. I just want to see it repeat. Often.If he is real good, you could see Norris traded soon even if we don't get much return.I can't see Norris having 3 or 4 more bad starts.God how I wish we had Arrieta and Simon now. I know why they aren't here, but I wish I had them NOW.

Last I heard Chris Waters was a coach for an independent team in Hawaii. Pitched for York for a while. Brother was paralyzed from neck down.

Alfredo Simon has been with seven different organizations, some of them multiple times, for a reason. Sure some guys magically find it later in their career, but having him or anyone else doesn't solve the problem and reality that our problems have to do with what is already here. Never mind that 3/5 of the rotation has been pretty consistent and at times great. Now they need Tillman to piece it back together.

I kind of understand this thinking, but it is better for Norris' value if he has a DL stint vs being sent to the bullpen.

And since he'll be pitching for someone else he wants that stint to be viewed as a starter, not in the BP as a failed one. There's really no shame for him on the DL especially if the weight loss is true. It'll viewed as him needing to get back to full strength.

Believe it or not, the book is not completely closed on all of my original Big Ten ...... and that list of mine was from 2009.

I was hoping to get at least 2 or 3 solid starters and/or relievers from that list.

We have Tillman and Britton. Matusz is an average reliever (unlike Britton, who is excellent out of the bullpen.) Arrieta plays for another team. I loved Brad Bergesen, particularly before that line drive broke his leg in a season in which he was possibly headed for a Rookie of the Year award.

Great post. IIRC that same game he got the broken leg, he had taken over the AL lead in ERA just innings before. Just for comparison sake this next wave looks pretty good.

1. Gausman-MLB DL

2. Bundy-AA

3. Harvey-DL

4. Ed Rod (he was lumped in with these guys before the trade)- AAA w/Boston

5. Wright-MLB

6. Davies-AAA

7. Wilson-AAA

8. Givens-AA

9. Berry-AA

10.Kline-AA

Almost all of these guys will be ready to compete to fill the open spots in ST next year. Or trade chips.

He hasn't pitched what since last Sunday? That is already a week. I brought up the idea of a DL stint before his last start, not that I thought it would happen. I mean at this point we are talking about missing maybe only 1 start?

I am excited about our arms, at least I think we have some good arms for the pen, just never know if someone will stick in the rotation, I hope our position prospects step up.

I've got a M151A2 sitting out in my barn right now. Granted, it doesn't look nearly as good as that and it's in about 300 pieces.

Oh yeah, baseball....I really liked watching Wright's demeanor today. Seemed to be very confident, really on the good side of that fine line between confident and cocky.

      I was listening to MLB Prospects podcast last week. They talked about Gillen, and mentioned a lot about how he may be the best high school hitter. However, it’s a tough call where he’ll go because of a weak arm. They said the arm was injured, a right labrum, and his arm strength is not back after two years. So, probably wasn’t going to be a SS anyway when said and done due to size, maybe a 2B/LF or CF profile due to the weak arm and 60 speed. He was projected to maybe become the top high school player in the draft as a sophomore, but injured the shoulder and had some other injuries that have held him back. It is going to be interesting to see where Elias goes with picks 22 and 32. I would like to see Gillen there, but I think he’ll be gone. Kellon Lindsey is interesting, and maybe Billy Amick, along with one of the previous college hitters you mentioned will sneak through. Lindsey is rising fast.

      A good friend of mine coaches college baseball.  He’s studied and dedicated his career to understanding how humans move. Not all humans move the same way.  An incredible talent could potentially be taught to move against his body’s preference and fail.  New wave progressive coaches understand how various body types work and the nuance to teach/coach them effectively.

      I'm still trying to figure out how this guy is out of the majors for 7 years and somehow manages to pick up 2 MPH on his fastball, at the age of 34.  But hey, I'm not complaining.   Statcast loves him so far this year.  Statcast thought he was a little unlucky in his last stint in the majors, and unsurprisingly they think he's getting a little lucky now, but even accounting for his good luck he's still in great pitcher territory.

      2 "gutsy" starts in a row.  That's exactly what you want out of veterans to demonstrate to the young guys.
