According to the guys on 105.7 , Justin Upton is from Roanoke Va and wants to be an Oriole. Also they say he is buddys with Jones. The front office is holding Upton waiting for Boras ...urh ...I mean Davis to decide.

I think this is bull crap! I think Upton is more likely to be worth the long term contract.

and why not sign the player that wants to be here! And whose fate is in their own hands and not that of their agent?

The fact that the Uptons are from Roanoke and that Justin would be open to playing for the O's is not a secret. Whether or not he could be signed for less than Davis is another matter. That could be the biggest hangup.

Olmos has no options. I'd rather try and DFA him and sign this guy. At least Olson as options.

As for trading Cruz, I don't think we're at the point yet where to make another trade for a MOO type bat. That's gotta wait till we see if Davis signs. Right now we should be in on trying to get a LH OF with a good OBP. We drafted Rickard in the Rule 5. He could be 1/2 of a platoon. Kim would work. Kelly Johnson, Nava, De Aza, DeJesus, Span, Murphy, Joyce, Venable, Parra could all work.

I'd like to see Kim and Venable/De Aza signed. Then Nava or Joyce on a milb deal with a ST invite.
