Just go trade for Jay Bruce or Markakis

I disagree with that postulate. Bruce could hit anywhere. If he hits again. If he is like Snider, the we have to DFA.

Plech. I do not want a dude or guy who "improved" to a .294 OPS last season batting leadoff for my team. He shouldn't bat above 7th, imo.

I'm not buying the BABIP argument - because it happened two years in a row. Couldn't that happen because he's just not hitting the ball well when he makes outs - compared to how he used to when he was injury-free earlier in his career? He's not the same hitter he used to be.

He had a bum knee for a year. We will see.

You think they would prefer Wright over Mancini-led deal? All indications are they want offensive prospects. Bruce comes with some inherent risk and a fairly big contract, so the return is not going to be amazing for them. Besides, after what they got for Frazier, I'd probably start with Walker and Urrutia.

What would they do with Mancini? First base is locked up. Maybe they could move him for another young player, but that seems like a lateral move with more risk.

I really don't see how he compares to those two guys all that much. Nevertheless I hope so too!
