10. D.J. Stewart, of, Orioles

Team: high Class A Frederick (Carolina).

Age: 22

Why He’s Here: .381/.481/.810 (8-for-21), 6 R, 3 2B, 2 HR, 8 RBIs, 5 BB, 3 SO, 2-for-2 SB

The Scoop: Much like Bubba Starling with the Royals, Stewart “earned” a change-of-scenery promotion. At the time of his jump from low Class A Delmarva, the 2015 first-round pick was slugging less than .400 in the Sally League. The change has worked so far. Stewart hit two home runs this week after hitting just four in 62 games in Delmarva. (JJC)

12. Trey Mancini, 1b, Orioles

Team: Triple-A Norfolk (International)

Age: 24

Why He’s Here: .448/.484/.621 (13-for-29), 2 R, 1 2B, 2 3B, 7 RBIs, 1 BB, 7 SO

The Scoop: It’s tough to break into the big leagues as a first baseman. It’s even tougher when you’re coming up through the Orioles system when the big league team has Chris Davis, Pedro Alvarez and Mark Trumbo. But all Mancini can do is to keep hitting. Mancini has hit .314/.362/.485 for his career and he’s hitting .309/.376/.472 since his promotion to Norfolk.

17. Chance Sisco, c, Orioles

Team: Double-A Bowie (Eastern)

Age: 21

Why He’s Here: .387/.441/.516 (12-for-31), 5 R, 1 2B, 1 HR, 2 RBIs, 3 BB, 5 SO

Sisco has proven he can hit wherever he goes, thanks to excellent barrel control and a polished approach. He is a line drive machine, using the middle of the field and rarely mis-hitting a ball. If Matt Wieters leaves Baltimore as a free agent after the season, Sisco might not be ready to take over on Opening Day, but he should be able to push his way to a big league job at some point in 2017.

14. Chance Sisco, c, Orioles

Team: Triple-A Norfolk (International)

Age: 21

Why He’s Here: .440/.481/.800 (11-for-25), 4 R, 3 2B, 2 HR, 8 RBIs, 2 BB, 6 SO

Sisco received a September promotion . . . to Norfolk from Double-A Bowie. He made a good impression on his new teammates, going 2-for-5 with a home run in his International League debut. Power isn’t typically a big part of Sisco’s game, which is more dependent on his pure hitting ability and sharp sense of the strike zone. He has hit .320/.405/.429 in 482 plate appearances this season. (BB)
