I've been reading a lot of posts about Bundy's supposed velocity dip, presumably a reference to his last start. I'm surprised nobody has linked to Buck's presser yet. Buck addresses Bundy's velocity from last start, saying it was mostly 2 seam FBs (which are slower than his 4 seamer).

The problem is what Buck is saying isn't supported by sites such as Brooks Baseball.

As you can see they show a clear decline in 4 seam velocity.

Fair enough. I guess my only question would be why doesn't Brooks show velocity for the 2-seamer, and does the absense of 2-seam velocity indicate that Brooks is mixing the 2 with the 4?

I think that given a large enough sample of fans you'll find some with almost any point of view.

This shows him as having thrown 1 sinker in his last start, 0 in the 8/12 start, and 15 in the 8/7 start. The 8/17 start seems to be completely missing there. If he was actually throwing lots of 2-seamers in his last start, the classification here is just wrong.

Honestly. I don't know why anyone thinks Duquette has an agenda to downplay Chen. If anything, you'd think Duquette would be puffing his chest out for having signed Kim so cheaply.

I didn't watch all of the game last night, but Bundy's fastball doesn't appear to have much movement to it, or at least not the kind of movement you might expect from a 2-seam FB.
