Kevin Gausman looks like he has finally taken that step forward that many people believed he was capable of - I'll admit I was not one of those people. This is not the same pitcher from the beginning of the season, he seems to have a lot more confidence and is attacking hitters a lot more consistently. Damn glad to see it, damn glad to be wrong. We needed this performance tonight, and no matter what happens from here on out, Gausman has really shown something.

I said about a month ago that seeing a younger pitcher like Bundy having so much success might light a fire in Gausman to take his game to another level. It might just be a coincidence but since Bundy's been inserted full-time into the rotation, Gausman has been absolutely lights out.
