TT: How bad are the Orioles?

The ball that Manny made the Brooks II play on was probably foul per Buck. If he was phoning it in he would have let it go. And what does of late mean? The the last game, the last 3 games or as many games back as you cherry pick to support your narrative?

We have to have the worst SP in the MLB and at AAA.

Chris Lee 59 IP 5.80 ERA

Jayson Aquino 52.1 4.30 ERA

Jordan Kipper 44 IP 5.11 ERA

Tyler WIlson 41 IP 5.27 ERA

Ynoa 37.2 IP 6.93 ERA

It's sick the lack of talent in the majors and even AAA right now.  Even AA

Brandon Barker 75 IP 3.84 ERA

John Means 72.2 IP 5.08 ERA

David Hess 67 IP 4.70 ERA

Matt Grimes 64.1 IP 4.62 ERA

Where is the help coming from????????

There is one solution to all of this.  And it rhymes with tire fail.

Unfortunately, I'm feeling this way as well.   I look at sportsfan8703 post above and realize there's no help in the near future for the starting pitching, and the current group of guys is plain bad.

We need to trade guys for young starting pitching that is ready or nearly ready for the big leagues.

That would be nice, but I'd be just as happy with some some high-upside A ballers.  The thing about a hire kale is that there is no immediate rush to win again.

No reason we can't have some of both (near-ready and lower minors studs) if we play our cards correctly at the deadline.

How bad are the Orioles?

How bad is Manny Machado?

Among qualifying 3B

Avg: 19/22  OBP: 20/22  SLG: 12/22  OPS: 19/22

If there are 18 3B better than Manny offensively... what is his market either in a trade or as a FA in 18 months?

I truly believe that Manny may struggle to ever hit above .260 again... his approach is terrible

I don't share your pessimism.    But that's nothing new.

Ah yes you didn't share my pessimism concerning signing

1. A 32 yo middle infielder

2. A 33 yo middle reliever

3. A 29 yo slugger one year removed from hitting .196

And yet sadly my pessimism was dead on.

It's not pessimism it evaluating your talent in the cold light of day and making decision accordingly.
