3 inning stints for pitchers

Why don't the O's try going with 3 rotations of 3 pitchers pitching 3 inning each. You could still have a 3 man bullpen. That means the pitchers would pitch 6 innings every 6 days, as opposed to 6 to seven innings every 5 days. It would allow hitters to only see a pitcher once, maybe twice through the order, thereby maximizing the effectiveness of the pitchers. Would it work?

We're already doing that. The starter goes 3 innings, the mop-up man goes 3 innings down 8-0, then a committee pen finishes off the game.
