Is Zach Britton worth a qualifying offer?

Yes.  And here is why.  The Orioles should go into a proper rebuild and that means they should be dropping a lot of salary.  If you have young players playing on league minimum contract next year then taking an $17 million dollar chance that Britton regains his form is perfectly reasonable.  You shouldn't be spending that money elsewhere do why not take the gamble.

Might as well give a qualifying offer to Tillman as well with logic like that.

Melancon is the case in point of why not to do a QO.

I think Jones is the better candidate for QO. I think he could actually produce close to $18M in RF.

Jones is currently at -0.2 rWAR.

1.7 oWAR (on pace for 3.4). Move him to RF and he is probably 0 WAR. Fangraphs has him +0.2 fWAR.

More importantly, I think Jones is more likely to decline the QO since this may be his last chance to sign a multi year deal.

I don't know.  He's slower than Mancini and doesn't have the arm he used to.  Before this season started I would have agreed with you, now I am just not sure.

Same. His arm has looked bad. And for years I’ve been saying a move to RF makes sense. I now think he’s limited to LF.
