    • 30 IP in 37 games.  .3 fwar.   Better than average.  Never accumulated an fwar higher than .7 until 2014.
    • Miller had 53 games and 40 IP in 2012.  In 2013 he pitched 37 games and 30 IP.   That’s way under 1 inning appearance.  For someone “good to elite” it’s certainly odd that he was used as more of a specialist.      After saving another game yesterday with a perfect inning with two strikeouts, in his last 30 games,  Scott has thrown 30.1 IP, 16 H, 14 BB, 32 K with a 1.48 ERA.   Over his last 15 games, 16 IP, 7 H, 5 BB, 17 K with a 1.13 ERA. Scott, post all-star break last year pitched 31 G, 34.2 IP, 23 H, 7 BB, 40 K with a 1.56 ERA. Scott had a 2.8 fwar last year.  Miller, as a reliever, never had an fwar above .7 until 2014, the year he was traded to the Orioles.  He finished the 2014 season at 2.2 fwar.
    • Scott since April 16: 27.1 innings, 29 Ks, 13 BB, 2ER for a .66 ERA, .468 OPS against.    He had a rough start but has been elite for 2.5 months.
    • 2.64 ERA with 14.1 K/9. I guess you have a different definition of mediocre than I do.
    • Depends on who is doing the ranking.  First of all, Fangraphs also didn’t include Josh Liranzo in the top 45 so it’s either an error of omission on their part or they have completely lost it over there. I believe it was Kiley McDaniel, of ESPN, who had Bradfield #7 and Etzel around #11 or #12 and that was before the season so it wouldn’t be a shock if Mr. McDaniel jumped Etzel over Bradfield in his off season rankings. I am not an ESPN+ subscriber so I can’t pull up McDaniel’s list but I remember it being discussed and we were surprised how high he had Etzel.  At this point, that’s a feather in his cap.
    • I don’t think I’d be in favor of bringing him back.  What we’re experiencing now is a stretch where he looks good. I’m assuming he will have more flare ups.    If they brought him back next year I’d want them to use him in tandem with Felix, using Felix for whichever part of a lineup is harder in the 8th or 9th.
