Elias is going to want to keep someone at C he trusts at AAA.

He may have too many catchers at AAA.  Perez,  Susac at both on minor league contracts and I doubt either has an opt out.  Wynn has an option.  Cervenka  should be at AAA after his performance at Bowie last year.

Jon Meoli gave his projection. Other than ticking off Wildcard saying incorrectly they don’t need a 5th starter until 2 weeks in, it was solid.

He had Trumbo on DL.

Santander and Hays making team, no Stewart.

Has Escobar making team, no Ruiz.

Sisco and Wynns at C.

Had Karns starting year on DL or in minors. Said he could be ready when they need a 5th starter 2 weeks into season.

If Sucre doesn't opt out, I think him and Wynns (if healthy by the middle of next week) will get a lot of time the last few weeks of the Spring for the 2nd catcher spot. The Visa delay for Sucre and the injury to Wynns cost them a little time, but I think those are the two higher guys when it comes to defense.

Santander might also have an edge due to the way he is hitting and also being a switch hitter. Don't really need to worry about a matchup in that situation unless he is completely useless against one side.

The utility role looks close.

I really wouldn't want to make a prediction on a roster now, especially with the chance of injuries and people having more than 10 innings pitched or 20 at bats.

Stewart sure does strikeout a lot. I was disappointed when we drafted him and still not a huge fan.

I'm glad the outfielders are stepping up and making a competition out of things.  Pleasant surprise.

Luckily got a table to post(see above) so didn’t want to mess that up with comments. So here goes...

Why does Mancini only have 7 ABs so far?  Nunez, Villar, Davis, and Stewart all pretty much seemed liked penciled in starters. All our struggling. Mostly everyone else is mashing. Sisco isn’t really playing that much. Maybe Hyde is taking it easy on the Catchers?

Mancini injured his pinky.  Has been out.  7 catchers means no one get a lot of at  bats.   Cuts coming this weekend.   Hyde will concentrate on getting his regulars more playing time over the final 2 weeks of games.

I would say the most disappointing spring so far is Villar. Just hasn't done a damn thing yet. He'll be fine, but you'd like to see him turn it on pretty soon.

Slow starter, looks like.  .232 career batting average in April/March with a .650 OPS.
