Law had him at 51 but sounds kinda Joey Rickard to me

"If he can handle center field, he’s got a chance to be an above-average regular even without average power; if not, he might be a quality fourth outfielder who plays all three spots but doesn’t quite have the thump to be a regular in a corner."

Made me think of Fiorentino, myself.  Again, just a guess since I have no idea who this is.

You simply cannot justify these decisions. We've come away with guys that were rated lower than the picks we made three times in a row. Two outfielders when we have a glut of them already, and a shortstop who has a decent ceiling but a low floor. No pitching with a lot of guys left who we could have spent that overslot money on. Elias messed this draft up big time. Inexcusable decision making is being kind.

Says a clear amateur draft expert.

I SWEAR MLB is forcing the Orioles to make these loser picks so they can move them to Nashville.  Why not- the Nats moving to the area and winning a World Series (and may win more in years to come) is our worst nightmare and they are now our a daddy.   What a SAD state of affairs for this organization.

The guys on MLB.com said the opposite - they said the guy has power and profiles as a 20/20 starting CF,  Somebody is wrong.  I hope it's Law (again).

Did you hear Harold Reynolds when they asked him what he thought of the pick?  He hesitated and said "I lllliked it" in the same way you say you liked the lima bean stew your friend's mom fed you when she asked what you thought of it.  I wonder if Harold had any idea who he was.  I was a scramble to find a notecard with some bio info and stats.

Most were thinking we took Kjerstad at 2 to go high-upside overslot pitchers at later picks.  Now it’s looking like it was just a cheap move.

I am aware of what most people are assuming. I'm not jumping to any conclusions until the draft is over and all the ink is on paper - and even then, I'm not jumping. It's an amateur draft. It takes years to really suss this out. The overreaction theater here is embarrassing. Especially since with a few rare exceptions, we're a group of people who have zero experience evaluating these players. And the overwhelming majority of writers doing mock drafts have never seen them in person - they're just basing their mocks on hearsay and what other people are writing.
