Obviously you’ve read more recent information than that, but if he does go for 2 years, how far do you think he may drop? Could you get him at 41 as an under slot? Seems that a deal could be reached and you get the arm and some pool $.

They had an elite athlete service deferment thing, but I think Mattis got rid of it, but Trump has floated bringing it back. So it’s up in the air.

No, not really, look at where Songs throwing elbow gets before his hand comes up. 

You may have to do frame by frame, Song has a super quick arm action.

Haven’t placed Cronin, relief only is tough to judge, but he’s easily one of the top 5 relief only dudes and maybe 2nd behind Jacob Wallace.

A more obscure Razorback name I like is Jacob Kostyshock. Not a top 100 type, but an interesting upside arm if you get past the durability issues.

Fangraphs mock draft 3.0 released today has us picking up Hunter Barco, no. 32 on Luke’s list, with our 2nd round pick.    They also mentioned prep SS Kyren Paris as a possibility.

Braves love to go after big HS pitchers.  I'm guessing they go after either Brennan Malone at 9 or Quinn Priester at 21.  They might have lucked out by not signing Carter Stewart.  Imo, Hunter Bishop would make a lot of sense for them at 9.  I'm guessing they're hoping against hope that CJ Abrams somehow slides to 9.

I may have missed this, but why do we want Vaughn? Isn’t he just a big first baseman? Even if he’s a fabulous first baseman, we’ve already got lots of those.

You never, ever, ever draft for need in the first round of the MLB draft.

Also, I don't hear anyone pining for Vaughn to be the Orioles pick.

That's unknowable without insight from the Orioles draft room. Does it seem that way, yes. Was he picked a lot higher than I personally thought he should go, yes. But I can't be sure that he wasn't just the top name on the board.

I agree that the Grenier pick seemed like a "stretch" at the time, but consider he was the consensus best defensive shortstop in the draft and his bat showed significant improvement his final year of college.  He hasn't had the smoothest start to his pro career but there is still plenty of time.
