Twins bullpen needs help?

Reading up on last night’s epic game between the Twins and Yankees, it became clear that the Twins are a World Series quality team, but they need some bullpen help. I really think right now they may be the most complete team, but they do have at least that one serious need.

I don’t think Mychal Givens has too much value, But I wonder what the Twins would give up for him?

I think there's a big enough market for Givens we get more than we did for Cashner. I think he ultimately yields a Low-A level prospect with good upside but risk in reaching it (likely somewhere in the 20-30 range of a team's rankings) as the front piece with maybe a guy or two from the GCL/DSL ranks.

Does anybody have an idea of what the twins would be able to offer? I don’t know how strong their farm system is, but their offense sure seems to be clicking.

The Twins likely have a short window. I'd be willing to go big at the deadline if I were them. That may or may not include Givens. Just think they should go for it while it looks like it could be their year.

As an aside, Cruz is still raking 5 years after we apparently made no serious attempt to keep him.

Think about it like this: the Yankees’ bullpen is among the best in baseball. Our is NOT. It’s very not. So, if we have to play the Yankees in the postseason, their pitching staff isn’t likely to change much because how much better can it realistically get? Meanwhile, almost everyone expects our pitching staff to change for the better over the next week. Meaning, if we have to play them in October, we’ll probably be better and they’ll be about the same.”

Maybe they want starters as well as relievers, but it’s very clear they are shopping.
