Smart move

1. To some degree it gets them out front of the issue so it doesn't end up like the situation in Washington
2. It distracts from their unwillingness to spend to improve a promising core of young players.
3. Gets them a nice bump in memorabilia sales the year after the pandemic hit their pockets hard.
