Seems like Maddon is headed to the Angels. I could see Buck being hired by the Phillies if they decide to part with Kapler, but I wonder if a Buck/Arrieta relationship would prevent that.

Madden to the Angels makes too much sense, IMO.  But what about Buck in Chicago?

Buck is an old school manager and Epstein is an analytics guy, so unless Buck is willing to change his approach its hard to see it.

Good point.  Probably not a good fit at all when you consider that.

I love Buck, thankful for all he did while he was here.  I know it ended on a sour note and I fear that clouds peoples thoughts of him but whatever.

That said, as much as I like him, not really interested if he surfaces anywhere else.

I think his resistance to analytics will hurt his prospects.

Perhaps.  Buck is a smart dude, though.  I wouldn't be surprised if he came around.

I heard him Friday with Mad Dog on MLBN. He is a good politician. He talked about analytics in a non-negative way. He said he has another roll of the dicein him. 

I think he knows what to say to whatever audience he is dealing with to sound good.

Could be wrong here but wouldnt Duquette and Brady be the ones who should have implemented that? Maybe Buck was opposed and I missed it.

As long as his prospects are in the minor leagues, it won't matter.
