Water Buffalo are native to some Japan lands like Okiniwa.  But we have the Tigers and the Penguins.

They are not native to Japan.   Moreover, they are not native to the US, either.    The animal sometimes referred to as a buffalo in the US is really the North American bison.    Buffalo are native to Africa and Asia, but not Japan.

Water buffalo are present in the Okinawa prefecture and have been for centuries.
