I’m not worried about the catching situation. I think both Catchers have upside with their bats, and nobody runs anymore. Severino is a solid “everyday” Catcher at this point.

Cisco is not a backup catcher behind the plate. He might have a decent bat, but his glove behind the plate isnt fun to watch.

Well if they let him wear his usual hat it'd be a lot more fun.

Seriously folks, what is so hard about Sisco?  It isn't that complicated of a name and to me, his defense isn't any more painful to watch than Severino's lethargy.

This entire thread kind of seems like debating over whether you should drive the Accord or the Altima when you have a Porsche coming in on back order.

Worse, it's in the garage, you just haven't bothered to get insurance for it yet.

It's not on back order, its in.   You are debating whether to drive the accord or the Altima when you pick it up....

If you work in the tech industry, it's hard not to spell it Cisco.

Oh look, another "manipulating playing time" jab by CoC.

And here I was thinking I needed to edit it to say don't feel like paying for the insurance but turns out it wasn't necessary for you to get the point, and if you can get the point, anyone can.  ?

Did you see where he was mocking people for not getting "correct answers from people for the easy stuff" on the last page?

Isn't it ironic, don't ya think?

No, I can't do 8 pages of talking about Sisco/Severino and whatever quad A guy that looked good in ST that wildcard is fawning over when we all know AR is the only thing that matters.  I just hit the 9th page cause I was bored and wanted to see what you dolts were up to.

Ive said it before. I mean no disrespect. I work daily in the IT field and with hundreds of CISCO manufacture devices, so my fingers are trained by the repetition of typing that over and over.

Lol...it really is a silly conversation.

Who cares who is the catcher right now?  People still don’t seem to understand the Orioles don’t want to win and don’t care about winning.

The only thing that matters is that we should be set at C for a long time.

Im not sure mocking is the correct term, but whom I am to disagree with you.

I dont think there is anything that I can say,  you wont jab at, chew up, or correct me on.

I will say...I do care to a certain extent when I see Severino have a pitch go through his legs that should have been blocked.  It's tough to watch sometimes.

Good catching is good for the development of our pitchers, which is an in-progress objective long before Rutschman's arrival. And there is no guarantee he won't be a big disappointment anyway.

    • I can see them pursuing him and I wouldn’t be against it. But anyone who thinks he’s signing for 4/120, or that there’s a big FA SP class, needs a better editor.
    • Roch is an idiot. Criticizing the fanbase at a time like now is ridiculous. 1 run in 2 games? Cmon man.    Also, nobody asks for that stupid emcee to get the crowd excited, that’s strictly for tv purposes.
    • I was there and there was nothing to get remotely excited about except for 5 minutes in the 5th inning. Stupid swings at the plate, lack of hitting in RISP. Cleveland scored more run before they recorded an out today than we did in 2 full games at home. Let that sink in. Our team is full of chokers that don’t handle pressure well or rise to the occasion.
    • This really only works if you're looking at 2 years of data.  Look at 4 years of data and suddenly Burnes looks like a vastly better bet.  Burnes has had an era under 3 for 3 out of the last 4 seasons plus the covid year.  Musgrove only 1 prior to signing the deal.
    • Did anyone here know she could play guitar?
    • I survived the decade plus losing years, I’m fairly hard to disappoint at this age. That said, I think they can change some things up in spring training - small ball stuff isn’t hard to add to the arsenal. I think they O’s may add a FA or two or resign one or two of our own guys in the winter. I don’t think we will ever throw money around like the Yanks or Dodgers, but I do believe ownership will invest more than the previous crew. All I was saying is I hope Elias starts to tackle some of the changes he talked about to push the rebuild to the next level. I do agree I’ll not be able to evaluate any potential changes until this time next year.

Maybe the fans just matched the team’s energy level the last 3 months? They were lifeless and witnessed what happened in the WC all too often from July-September. They went 1-13 with RISP, had 2 real XBH’s, and 1 run in 18 innings. The Guardians scored 2 runs 4 batters into their series. The team gave the fans little to cheer for from July on - the attendance and energy level just reflected that and the general discontent that this year’s team brought, even though there’s no shame in a 91 win season.
