Baker move is Hyde's worst call as manager so far. Just makes no sense. You can't give up in a must win game down 3 in the 3rd. Putting in Baker is basically giving up. I guess no position players were available to take the mound? At least that would have provided some LOLs rather than WTFs.

He's not awful, but he's made a lot of mind-boggling in-game decisions this year and many of them have backfired. The game against Toronto where he brought in a tired and struggling Baumann in the 10th inning instead of Bautista and he promptly gave up a homer stands out to me.

Flaherty hasn't been good but he's muddled through two innings without a lot of damage. He's an actual starting pitcher, not a guy who had a 5 ERA in Norfolk and hasn't pitched in a game that mattered in months.  Bottom line, this is still a game if Flaherty starts the third inning.

Yeah blame the manager when the starter couldn’t even get you two innings.  You have to cover 7+ innings everyone pretty much gonna have to pitch.

It was a choice to have Baker on the roster instead of Irvin. It was a choice to make Baker the first guy after Coulombe. If the Orioles are down by five in the eighth, fine, use Baker.

Hyde doesn’t make that decision that is Elias.  Texas struggles with high velocity so you want your power arms.
