This is interesting. It looks like we went with safer pick with Norby and then a bit more toolsy and untested with Trimble. It's an okay balance. I'm okay with the three players so far, but not loving this draft so far. I like it better than I liked it three picks in last year, but fingers crossed for something splashy soon.

I'm surprised they went overslot on yet another OFer - rather than a pitcher.  O's system seems over-loaded in the OF.  But that's ok if they really believe these 2 will start for them, hit, and provide speed and athleticism.

[Insert lower rating or write-up pointing out deficiencies]

-- reaction, terrible pick.

[Insert higher rating or write-up point out positivies]

-- reaction, great pick

It's the same every year and likely with just about every team. We don't know what we don't know. We don't know what they do know. We don't know what they don't know.

Bottom line. We don't know. It's fun reading about these new guys though.

We don’t know but how often are people wrong when they criticize a lower ranked guy being picked higher?

What about when they choose the lowest possible ranking and ignore the better ones?

This is the baseball draft. Criticism is going to be right more than it's not. That doesn't mean the critics' way is a better way. They'd certainly be wrong more often than not too.
