now
Today Melewski in his column points out that Bowie's current record (.598) surpasses previous highs of .592 in 1994 and 2008. Those dates seem significant as they predate our last windows of playoff contention, beginning in 1996 and 2012. So the 1994 Bowie team foreshadowed an Orioles playoff team by 2 years, and the 2008 team foreshadowed the 2012 playoff team by 4 years. I don't know our farm rankings then but they were certainly well below our current top rank. So does this mean Bowie's high achievers indicate Baltimore playoffs in 2-4 years? Sounds good to me...
Frobby
2008 was a high water mark in our farm system. Not as high as right now, but otherwise the best farm system we’ve had in about 25 years. The next year we had 8 players from that system debut in the majors. That was the year Adam Jones started with the pies.

If this farm system is as good as that one was, we're about to get pretty good in the next 2-3 years.
