The Tides are rolling out

The Tides lost again yesterday, bringing them to 0-4 against Durham this week.  They’ve scored a total of 5 runs in 4 games.   Neustrom is 1 for 16 and Stowers 0 for 10 with a pair of walks.  Rutschman had been a bit better at 4 for 16 with a walk, but it’s all been singles.

Bright spot last night was Dean Kremer allowing only 1 R in 4 IP, 5 H, 0 BB, 2 K’s.  That dragged his Norfolk ERA down to 4.91.

Well, the Tides ended their season with a come from behind victory, scoring 2 in the bottom of the 8th to win 3-2.  Adley Rutschman scored the winning run and Kyle Stowers had the game tying RBI.  Nice to see them end on a high note after a tough week.

Norfolk's lineup was terrible this year. They scored the least runs in Triple A East.

Some of it was the fault of organizational guys in the lineup (Ripken, McCoy, Jarrett, Escarra, Mejias-Breen) but the prospects seriously underperformed there as well (Nevin, Bannon, Diaz).

I'd consider moving on from Tim Gibbons (Norfolk's hitting coach).
