That’s not what I’m saying is inaccurate.  It’s most of the rest of your post that isn’t accurate and lacks understanding of the arb process.  That 400k could mean millions of dollar over the next few years.

It won’t if your planning to trade him. All indications are that they will.

According to this 35% of this year’s Oriole player salaries is going to Chris Davis.

Still, as Connolly explores, the lack of an extension and the seemingly inevitable trade of Mancini — be it in the next couple weeks or this summer — will be a wildly unpopular move both among fans and in the clubhouse. Mancini, the 2021 Comeback Player of the Year, was already a fan favorite in Baltimore before overcoming stage-3 colon cancer and returning to the field with a generally productive 2021 season. He’s also entrenched as a clubhouse leader in Baltimore. The O’s will start spending money at some point once they’re ready to emerge from what’s now a four-year tanking effort, but at the moment they project to just a $64.5MM payroll — $23MM of which is dead money still owed to Chris Davis.

Mancini said this week that as long as he's here (with the O's) he will continue to do whatever he can to make the team better.  That sounds like he is anticipating being traded at some point between now and August 2nd.

Or that, just like the rest of us, Mancini knows that a trade is a distinct possibility.

But, they could easily afford $165 million with fan attendance. They should have long banked Davis’ money

There isn’t one piece of news there that indicates he is on the trade block or they want to deal him anytime soon.

There were rumors earlier this offseason that there was a possibility. Don’t know what actually occurred any more than you. Still who cares …as I mentioned they could easily afford $165. They are banking 100 million to the pockets of the worst ownership group in baseball

There is always going to be a chance a player gets traded.  That’s not news.

But the way this arb stuff is going down as of now isn’t any indication of it.  He is here for 3 more seasons, so there is no immediate need for a long term contract either.

Mancinii, Santander, and Means are in the next bucket to be traded. The next bucket likely has Mullins in it. I think it’s 75%+ that all 3 are dealt this season unless they do so horribly that they have no value.
