Just another comment here, for years this board debated over the benefit of a top prospect spending time in AAA at all.  There were many posters that felt that the best prospects could just go straight from AA. And here we have a guy with an OPS over 1.000 and we're speculating that he should get a promotion to AAA around the AS break.

Just an interesting note on how the philosophy has changed.

Elias changed that.   His insisted that Adley and Grayson spend time at AAA.  And promoting pitchers from AA to the majors after 2020 turned out to be a disaster.

The O's fans are watching and understand the environment the O's are in.

Sure, I understand that.  I don't think either way is necessarily right or wrong.  I just think it's different how the context has changed.

4 years ago the talk would have been should Gunnar be promoted to Baltimore for the 2nd half.

Maybe 5 years ago, when the O's were actually a playoff contending team in the 2nd half.

Sure.

Sign him to a team friendly long term deal and let him loose.

I forgot the green font. I don’t hate the idea because he seems like a tough player,  but there are certainly recent cases where a player wasn’t ready, and it gets awkward. Jarred Kelenic and Joe Adell.

Three more hits tonight.  Call the man up already, there is a log jam in the infield at Bowie and room for Infielders at Norfolk.

For the last three weeks, I've been stalking twitter on Mondays to see if he gets promoted (assuming the promotion would come between series). I'll continue to do so until he's promoted to AAA which has to been soon, right?

Two more hits tonight including a HR.  .315 avg 1.034 OPS.   Probably going to get another AB.  The kid is en fuego.

3 weeks ago when people were clamoring for a promotion I said the O’s would probably need to do it in a month if he kept hitting like he was.  And he’s done it for 3 more weeks.   He’s been really consistent.

Interesting phrasing there Frobby.  "They would need to do it".  Almost like they'd be forced to instead of intentionally slow-playing him.

    • The outfield might be slick from all the rain. I think that can influence lineup decisions.
    • @Bahama O's Fanor a free trial of any streaming platform. YouTube TV, Directtv, etc.
    • I’ve been rending my garments over Adley and his struggles for months now. But I will say that it seems like a bit of an odd time to come together as a group on the notion of benching him — just as he’s been starting to show some signs of being Adley again.  Over the last week of the season, Adley had a 50% hard hit rate and an average EV of 89.9 MPH. Those numbers absolutely dwarf what he was doing for months, when he was sitting at more like a 26% HH rate and an 85 MPH EV. Anecdotally, I can’t even remember the last time we saw Adley drive a ball into the left-center gap like he did multiple times against MIN. That’s Adley at his very best, and it was a sight for sore eyes.  I’m not sold that he’s 100% back, and I would still stick with McCann catching Burnes tomorrow (especially since using Adley as the DH is viable with a LHP starter in Ragans). But I sincerely doubt we can run the table without at least a few stretches of Adley being Adley — so I think this recent spurt is probably enough to warrant sending him out there every day still, in hopes that he really is getting it locked back in.
    • Apparently, if you just waited to buy tickets, you could just basically go for free. Well done orioles.
    • Well, they likely would not have drafted an overslot SS with the second round pick if they had taken another HS SS first overall, so would you rather have Henderson and Rutschman or just Witt?
    • It’s my understanding that nationally televised games are usually blacked out. Consider a free trial subscription of Fubo if they are still offering it.
    • The Orioles starters absolutely have to do better against the Royals. You can't ask this bullpen to pitch most of the game and expect to win. Right now I probably trust Coulombe the most and Soto (which I never would have guessed a couple weeks back). Perez has been really shaky recently to the point I'm wondering is he nursing a tired arm or minor injuey. Cano hasn't been good as well and O's really need him to get back into a groove. And Akin is usually trustworthy, but only starting the inning clean.
