Tell me about Connor Gillispie

Connor Gillispie is having a nice year at Aberdeen.   He threw 6 innings last night without allowing an earned run, to lower his ERA to 2.65.   Since April 29, his ERA is 1.35.   In that stretch, he’s only allowed 15 hits in 40 innings.

He’s a 24 year old pitcher who was drafted in 2019.   Seems like a prime candidate for a midseason promotion, as he really needs to get moving.

What do we know about Gillispie, other than that he’s not the same guy as Logan Gillaspie?

He wears an 11 1/2 shoe... his favorite color is green, and his pet peeves are people who interrupt, and bad sandwiches

Pre-draft writeup in Baseball America before the 2019 Draft.

Drafted in the 9th round (258th overall) by the Baltimore Orioles in 2019 (signed for $125,000)

An undersized, 5-foot-11, 185-pound righthander, Gillispie throws a high spinrate fastball in the 90-93 mph range with a fringe-average slider. He's a three-year college performer who's struck out more than ten batters per nine innings in each of his three years in the Atlantic 10, and this spring posted a 2.58 ERA with 108 strikeouts and 21 walks in 80 innings.

I think you’re thinking of Logan Gillespie.

Connor Gillispie is in Bowie.

Correct.  Been looking through all Elias pitching draftees & acquisitions to see how they’ve done.  Don’t think anyone he’s drafted has made the show yet.   Got Connor and Logan confused

I saw him late May early June in Bowie. He basically kept the Baysox in the game by pitching 4 shutout innings.

He has a very entertaining stretch when he winds up. It must be a habit he picked up somewhere along the way. He does this shimmy shimmy dance with his shoulders before he winds up and it's kind of funny, but he's also very effective when he pitches.
