As I was watching the game, it definitely sounded like a pro-Orioles crowd.  I believe I even heard a “Let’s go O’s” chant in the 8th or 9th inning.

Yes, I heard "Fired Up Guy" yelling Let's Go O's throughout the game, and in the bottom of the 9th it sounded like a large contingent of O's fans yelling Let's Go O's. Was nice to hear this in an away ballpark.

Not surprised, the fans pretty much hate the owners. Between the Ricketts crying poor while trying to throw billions of dollars to buy a soccer team, being just in general trash human beings and being in yet another rebuild, interest in the team is as low as it has been in quite a while.

    • It’s not someone we drafted, but Ryan o’Hearn had hit .211 over 4 seasons after a promising rookie debut. He struck out between 24% and 28% over those 4 years. Yes that is in the mlb, not college. And yes, some of o’hearns batting average gains have been due to the elimination of the shift, but he’s been a .275 hitter the last two years with the orioles. Beyond that, in his first season with the o’s he cut his k rate to 22% (a career low at the time) and subsequently has only struck out 13% of the time this year. He gets protected from lefties, but it still shows a pretty unbelievable improvement in his k rate (particularly because I think the royals were protecting him against lefties somewhat too).  Are Vance’s issues swing recognition? Miss rate in zone? Out of zone? I haven’t really done the research, but I would say o’Hearn is at least an example that might give us hope.
    • Show me the 20 threads I started complaining about Hays’ playing time.   Then we can make that analogy.
    • Agree that Westy (and Grayson) are on that cusp if they are not playing in the next two+ weeks, especially with their overall MLB experience. Hope this all plays out for the better!
    • According to spotrac, he hasn’t even entered arbitration yet. If this is right we don’t even have to enter arbitration with him until 2026.    https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/player/_/id/19731/albert-suarez/contract/summary
    • Tonight was one of the worst pitching performances I’ve ever seen.  I’m glad we treated Nastrini just as rudely as Norfolk did.
    • The thing about Povich is he’s capable of having very good command one game and very poor command the next.  I really can’t think of one non-competitive pitch he threw tonight.   In that Dodger gsme he must have thrown 15 pitches that were 6+ inches off the plate or 6+ inches high.
    • Two games down, one to go. Don’t let up, don't feel sorry for them, don’t take your boot off their necks until they’re on the way out of town. A month ago these same sorry sacks put a 12-spot on the Yankees and they’ll do the same to us if given half a chance.
