Do we see a path for Grayson Rodriguez as the opening day starter?

Probably my favorite moment from MASN's telecast of the Camden 30th shindig hosted by Ben was an Oates-Sutcliffe anecdote.    Those two went way back, and during Spring Training, Sutcliffe, who'd been wooed by Oates in part with the carrot of opening the stadium, went to the manager with candor like "Are you sure you want me to pitch first?   This Mussina guy is incredible."

Oates told him not to worry about it, McDonald was better than him too.

It's going to be Jordan Lyles' replacement in 2023, even if it is Lyles himself.     But with good fortune 2024-2036 will be on lock.

The only OD hair to split for Hyde will be if the roster has like Chris Bassitt and Jordan Lyles.

It kept him healthy all last year and that's all that's important.

Milligan's unpopular opinion:  Hold him back after ST, don't let him go north with the team.  Rather, calculate his innings limit and work backwards from there, including allotting innings for the playoffs and bring him up whenever that date is.

People are gonna be piiiiiissssed if he comes up, throws great and they shut him down in late August/Early September because he's hit some inning limit, meanwhile the team is fighting for some playoff berth.  No, start him later in the season so he can pitch through September and into October if we're fortunate enough.

And if the O's just happen to get a seventh year....?

If he comes up late, pitches lights out and finishes in the top two of RoY I can laugh.

The Tony Taters talk was interesting.  He really seemed to be selling him.  He certainly may mean it and isn’t looking to deal him but the sales pitch was on full blast there.

I heard that like Morosi doing his bidding for the big market teams without any notion that BAL might be in the business of keeping and paying good players.

It could be good news for Top of the Deck trade enthusiasts if Morosi's angle reflecting a Club or three excited for  Santander, because always be arbitraging.
