He does look thick but not fat.  You really think he is overweight?

I don't think he's fat, but watching him all season I think that he is a little above an ideal weight that would maximize his athleticism. It's just an observation after a lifetime of watching sports, I honestly think it would help him. Of course I have no 'data' to back that up, so I fully expect a barrage of charts and analysis that shows Adley to be within 0.06% of his ideal playing weight.

Been saying for a while now that they should really consider dialing back the “Adley as DH” deployment a bit.

I think it limits the mental/physical benefit to his “day off” if he’s still in the lineup and preparing to take a full slate of at-bats — and I don’t think that, at present particularly, he’s really a much better hitter than other options who could DH in his stead.

Plus, it ties Hyde’s hands late in the game, when it might prove helpful to hit for McCann in a tight game.

At the very least, the leadoff experiment needs to come to an end. I feel like Adley's had more bad at bats in the last week than he normally has in a month.

He's had two really bad games. In the 10 games before that, he put up a .420 OBP. He's our best on-base guy by a good margin, and with the power at 2-3-4, we don't need someone to steal bases in that spot.

I wish he showed more power this year to become more of an impact player, but there really isn't a better option for leading off.

It would have been Cowser had Hyde and Elias not sabatoged Cowser by not playing him every day and letting him work through his initial adustment period.

Right now, moving Mullins up to leadoff is a reasonable solution. No one in the entire organization has as much experience leading off as Mullins does. Simply switching Adley's and Ced's spots in the lineup would be a nice way to change things up without disrupting the rest of the lineup. Although disrupting the rest of the lineup may not be a bad thing considering how the whole lineup has looked the past few days.

I agree.  He does not look in shape to me at all and he has turned into a 125 pound slap hitter with almost no drive or power.

Drafting a catcher that high is just a loser.

I thought about this a while back. I’d like to see him trying to drive the ball more as opposed to hitting lead off and looking for walks

In a disappointing year he is going to put up 4WAR.  Not bad.  He looks exhausted.  They need to find a better way to get him through a full season next year factoring in extra workload in 2023 playoffs and 2024 playoffs as well.

I think the drop in D & power is a function of being overworked.  Still 1+ year away from Basallo helping out.
