Watkins kept us in the games he pitched last year, yes he kept them close, but he (and the bullpen) still lost a large chunk of those games.

If you believe Eve he will be back when they think he is better than one of the 5 guys in the rotation.  Or there is an injury and they think he they best starter available for call up.

It’s not a high bar right now to be better that our worst starter.

Watkins was optioned back to Norfolk today when Akin returned off the paternity list.
