EdRod has an opt out after this year and Det isn't competitive. If he exercises the opt out I don't think Det gets any compensation. Trade Irvin to Det at ASB and assume the contract if opt out declined for an option year??????

We have McCann on McKenna in the the lineup, 2 definite outs.  Hyde seems to have trouble managing on Sundays.

If ERod is the best that we can acquire I think he would work because he's under a reasonable contract for several more years. PLUS he has big game experience and is a lefty.

I'm down for a 3 for 1 deal for him, but would prefer not to give up Cowser because he's our best outfield prospect.

Caveat: We may never get a shot at their pen or maybe only one inning: E-Rod at 71 pitches after six perfect innings.
