Late to the thread but I'll just say, having a mixed response to Kevin since he started PBP, I've just started to notice how good he is in those enthusiastic moments calling big plays. Like the classic announcers of old. Brown plus Palmer and/or McDonald is a great combination to have.
Irvin is probably going to be better than Means going forward. I hate to say it, but he looks like he has nothing left and we remember him as an "Ace" on horrible teams.
When Bradish comes back, Suarez goes to the pen. He will be an asset there and he can come back to the rotation if Irvin or someone else gets hurt or pitches poorly. I would DFA Ramirez and let him keep accumulating HBPs somewhere else.
I'm not sure why we would assume that Means rejoins the rotation right away. He has not pitched well at all during his rehab. I think he belongs in long relief until he shakes the rust off. I guess Dillon Tate will be the one to go, since he has an option.
I voted Irvin on the MLB app — and now an official ‘game ball’ in the game ball thread.
If Means and Bradish return and stay healthy, Irvin could be a solid long relief or depth option.
