No. He's not good. I guess he got away with it a little in Oakland for a couple of years. But he has to have great control, with that type of below average stuff.

I'm not sure what Elias saw in him. He may be one of those players who looks better on paper than he actually is in person.

My guess?

  1. He's got years of team control left
  2. Could be acquired for little prospect capital
  3. Left handed

I just dont want us trading real talent for a rental like they did with Boston and Rodrigez.  We never had pitching prospects and they sent probably one of our best for one pitcher who was only on the team for two months.  It was dumb then and if we do the same type of stuff it will be dumb now.  

Whoever we get has to be under control for at least two years.
