Dean Kremer is just an OK pitcher. His career BB/9 is 3.0, so he doesn't have elite control and he's going to miss in the strike zone. The stuff isn't electric enough for him to get away with it a lot of the time. Today he limited the damage, delivered a quality start, went long enough to give Hyde some bullpen flexibility, and the Orioles won. Be happy.

We are very slightly over the AL average in homers allowed per game.  1.20 per game for the O’s, 1.15 for the league.  We’ve hit more homers than we’ve allowed, by a few (93-90 going into today).  Rodriguez (2.6 HR/9), Wells (1.9), Irvin (1.9), Kremer (1.7) and Voth (1.7) have been the big culprits.  Everyone else is under 1.0.

Uhhhh ........ How can a starting pitcher that has given up 20 earned runs in 23 innings pitched ( a certain Mr. Cole Irvin ) STILL be in the Majors ?????

Because he had a successful career before that.  And since returning from his lengthy minor league stint, he’s allowed 5 ER in 10.1 IP, which isn’t awful.  We’ll see how it goes from here.
