Lucas progressed very nicely.  It would not shock me if he became a decent major league reliever at some point.

As a reliever, his K rate is over 10. His Bb rate is over 5, so that’s an obvious issue.

HR rate is .57 and his FIP is 3.6.

3.26 ERA combined in June and July although only 19.1 IP.

Trending in the right direction at least and maybe there is something to unlock. Worth a try.

It was over 12 before June 5.

Somehow I think this increases the chance we get the Ohtani rental from about 1% to 2%.
 

Nice to have someone else who speaks Japanese in the clubhouse.

Lucas is having a good year this year but they didn’t protect him in the offseason and probably wouldn’t this offseason either. It’s a nothing loss.
